"If you let your mind wander back through history,
you will find that the only thing that has not changed since the world began is – Love.
Love is the unchanging axis on which the world revolves." ~ Buster Keaton
Dr. Ayd's Philosophy of Therapy:
Humans share the desire and need for love. It is our source, and the overwhelming reason for life on this earth is to constantly return to that natural state. We are born into and choose different paths, but the only true purpose we have in this universe is to develop and be a presence of love. Whittle down the messages of the great teachers- Jesus, Buddha, Ghandi, the Dalai Lama, Eckhart Tolle and others- and they are the same. We are here to love, and through love all else is accomplished. The mental health field is not clear enough about this; but therapy at its root must always be about the practice of love. If the therapy is good, there will be true evolution toward that purpose. If you are seeking to return to that natural state, I would be honored to help.
People Who Benefit From My Approach:
I enjoy working with people of different ages, genders, orientations, race/ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. I work with people from all spectrums of the human experience, and am as comfortable with someone suffering with severe and persistent mental illness to the client dealing with self-esteem issues to couples struggling in their relationship. That being said, after years in this field it is apparent that those people interested in spiritual growth and development are the most successful and satisfied with the service I provide. My personal spiritual evolution is of utmost important to me, and I work to progress my spiritual, as well as emotional, well-being on a daily basis. I incorporate the works of Buddha, Jesus, and many other masters of divinity in the therapeutic work I do with clients. I have personally studied spirituality (vs. organized religion) for the majority of my life, and use it as a cornerstone for my practice. Through years of practice, I am fully aware that for those who suffer due to biologically based problems, there is value in medical intervention, as well. My classical training in clinical and counseling psychology incorporated with mindfulness and spirituality provide a rich therapeutic experience for those looking for deep, fulfilling change.
"Be at least as interested in what goes on inside you as what happens outside.
If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place."
Eckhart Tolle
